Day 14: Corals not the only thing bleachin!

Hello family and friends!

Yoko reportin in!  Today Team Red Seas ventured out to patch reef 4. The morning was beautiful with a lovely sun rise and clear skies around 6 AM but suddenly began to pour around 9 AM. All of us were prepared for some cold water and rough tides, yet luckily when we actually got out onto the waters, it was a pleasant day with clear waters and nice winds. This is our 3rd week here on Moku O Loe and I must say, this is possibly the longest I have been out in the sun. Not only have I gotten about 5 shades darker, but my hair has also progressively gotten lighter and lighter! I have now gone from a royal blue with purple and green highlights to a silvery green with blondes and yellows here and there. But never fret! I’m sure I can just try to recruit some of these zooxanthellae into my hair for a longer effect (ha). Anyways, today we had some delicious sweet potato vegan burgers by our very own Kalene Rogers! Field days have been long and rough and nothing is better than a great dinner with friends to finish the day. Being here on the island with like-minded students is a great experience and has been enjoyable thus far! I hope everyone will continue to look forward to our next post!

The cloud formations are breathtakingly beautiful! This one and the other one from a previous post. Thank Mother Earth for her picturesque displays.

Keep up the good work teams!
